About Commuter Lifestyle

Back in August of 2006 I was getting ready to start at a new job in central London. Having spent the previous two years of my life working practically in the middle of nowhere, I was very excited indeed about living the metropolitan lifestyle. At my previous job I could literally jump in my car and drive to work in about 10 minutes tops. My new job however required a 1 hour 15 minute commute from door to door (assuming no problems on the trains of course).

So how did I prepare for the commute to my new job? I knew I needed to get some new stuff like a rucksack, umbrella and perhaps an MP3 player that I could use on the train. I assumed there would be a website that would provide all these things in one place, so I jumped onto the Internet and typed something like "commuter essentials" into a search engine. I found no relevant sites whatsoever. Nothing.

The cogs started whirring and I thought to myself, "ah now theres an idea!". And Commuter Lifestyle was born.

What I am hoping to achieve with this site is a place where people who commute to work can come, get the latest travel news, read useful travel articles and find a selection of products which are dedicated to anyone who commutes to work.

The site is currently an 'affiliate site' which in real terms means that I do not stock any of the products featured on the site, I only refer sales to a list of trusted vendors. If the site is successful, the plan is eventually to turn this into a real business, so watch this space!

I hope you find the site a useful resource, and welcome any comments or thoughts you might have to improve the site or provide something that you believe will be a useful addition.

Happy commuting!
